Waste Management Facility

The Waste Management Facility (refuse site) is located 9km from town off Broome Highway and is open from 7.30am - 3.30pm Monday to Saturday and Public Holidays, and 8am - 2pm on Sundays.

Householders are to ensure that when removing refuse to the rubbish tip it is secure and does not litter the roadside. Persons wishing to dispose of wastes containing asbestos should contact the Environmental Health Officer before doing so.

No waste containing asbestos will be accepted at the tip unless it is completely enveloped in plastic and sealed with adhesive tape. Please contact the Environmental Health Officer to find out about specific precautions that need to be observed when handling asbestos waste.

Need Mulch For Your Garden?

The Shire of Broome Refuse Site is now providing garden mulch free for domestic and commercial use.

The mulch is available for collection during opening hours however the Shire are unable to assist with the loading or  transportation of the mulch.
