Refuse and Recycling Collection
The Shire, through the services of its contractor Toxfree provides a weekly household refuse collection service. Days and times for the various areas in town are as follows:

Rubbish is collected from 6.00am-2.30pm. Residents are reminded that the following materials are not permitted to be placed in any bins for collection:
- Hot burning ashes
- Oil
- Liquids
- Paint and Solvents
- Bricks and Concrete
- Earth
- Heavy materials or other like substances
Recycling Service
Council provides a comprehensive recycling service within the town site of Broome. For this service green sulo bins with yellow lids are provided and are emptied fortnightly on the same day of the week that the refuse bin is emptied.
The items that can be recycled are as follows:
- Code 1 plastics
- Code 2 plastics
- Aluminium and steel cans
- Glass containers
- Old newspaper
- Old corrugated cardboard
- Liquid paperboard
- Other items by mutual agreement
